Sometimes, you may not be satisfied with your purchase.

Returns and exchanges of those things that were too big, too small, the wrong color or just plain wrong can generally be straightened out. There are a few simple things that consumers should remember to make returns and exchanges as worry free as possible:

• Verify store policy on returns prior to making your purchase.

• Find out what the store's return policy is. Most retailers will have their return policies prominently displayed. Please read them before you make your purchase.

• Technology is making returns easier. Some retailers have begun issuing "gift checks" that contain all the necessary information to prove purchase, minus any reference to how much you spent.

• Keep all receipts! They are your key to hassle-free returns.

• Bring the original packaging (including all tags) and all parts with you.

• Don't delay! Make your returns as soon as possible after your purchase.
